New LG Optimus 4X HD
LG has announced the huge 5inOptimus Vu smartphone, three L-Style Android phones and the Optimus 3D Maxahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week, but we felt sure it was saving its flagship smartphone for the show itself.
The device also boasts a large 4.7-inch display, 1GB of RAM and a massively customised version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We particularly liked the new screen unlock method, which should keep Apple's lawyers away.
Alongside the Optimus 4X HD comes a detailed look at the 3D Max smartphone and the Optimus Vu phone/tablet rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note, all of which weren't set to go public before they appeared on the LG stand at MWC on Monday.
The Optimus 4X HD will come with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of local storage, an eight megapixel camera on the rear, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, support for DLNA and MHL, and will run the latest version of Android, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich.
The phone will come with a large 2150mAh battery and in combination with the fifth ‘companion core’ on the Tegra 3 chip, this should ensure pretty decent battery life for the new phone.
LG has said the Optimus 4X HD will be coming to Europe in the second quarter of 2012 but there is no word on pricing yet.
