Now forget tracking your sleep and start tracking your dental hygiene. Beam Technologies, a year-old startup, is set to introduce a Bluetooth-enabled toothbrush and app that will launch next month. The toothbrush contains a sensor and Bluetooth radio that will send your brushing information to a smartphone app. Later versions will also track how long you spent in certain areas of the mouth and might add some kind of gamification layer to help encourage better brushing.

The brush is made by Beam, the toothbrush aims to improve your dental hygiene with its countless, highly advanced features. The bluetooth toothbrush itself will retail for $50, and utilizes $3 replaceable heads. The accompanying app — for iOS and Android alike — is mercifully free.
The first version of the toothbrush, which is promised sometime next month for around $US50.Future versions of the brush will be even more intelligent, with the ability to specifically keep track of what areas of your mouth have been brushed, and reminding you which areas require more attention. The brush is set to be released next month. Beam says that the Android app is already finished and that the iOS version will be completed before launch.
